Engineering and Construction Manager needed. Full-time role with benefits. Occasional travel to MA. Flex with on-site and in the field. Salary range is $150K-$160K with bonus. Direct placement. This client will not sponsor but will relocate candidates.
Reporting to the Director, Asset Management, the Engineering and Construction Manager is responsible for leading the engineering team. Will provide engineering and technical support for generation and storage assets, manage the CAPEX budget and processes, manage construction activities and assignments which include oversight of engineering work performed by contracted engineers and others within the engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Manage engineers within the US operation group, perform engineering and technical support activities, and advise and troubleshoot on issues related to operations facilities
- Coordinate performance testing and reliability engineering activities
- Work with the operations personnel to develop and prioritize CAPEX and major maintenance short term and long term budgets and support
- Work with the development team to support project construction estimates
- Create and or review bid packages (RFPs)
- Participate in the selection of engineering consultants/contractors and manage their work
- Manage CAPEX records and periodic reporting for operations and development projects
- Coordinate closely with and support the Manager, Regulatory Compliance, the Chief Dam Safety Engineer, and the Senior Manager, Project Development, Business Development
- Review technical materials provided by others to support due diligence on assets considered for acquisition
- Develop and maintain technical libraries
- Represent the company in public and professional organizations
- Carries out other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, required
- 10+ years’ engineering experience involving engineering, operation, and/or maintenance of power facilities
- 3+ years’ experience managing teams
- Power and/or construction industry experience is a significant preference
- Performance testing experience
- Demonstrable analytical and report writing skills
- Prior experience managing contractors and consultants
- Proven ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors, and employees under stressful conditions
- Ability to work independently on implementing and developing engineering team goals and strategies is required
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
- Experience with FERC and NERC compliance is preferred
- Strong sense of integrity and ability to work independently
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite and database management
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
